It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the 3rd  International Conference on Fixed Combination in the Treatment of Hypertension, Dyslipidemia and Diabetes Mellitus which will take place in Brisbane, Australia on November 18-20th , 2010.

This will be the 3rd meeting of this kind, following the successful 1st Conference on Fixed Combination in the Treatment of Hypertension and Dyslipidemia, which took place in Budapest, Hungary from February 7 - 10, 2008 and attracted over 800 participants, and the 2nd International Conference on Fixed Combination in the Treatment of Hypertension, Dyslipidemia and Diabetes Mellitus which took place in Valencia, Spain on December 10-12, 2009 and was visited by over 1200 delegates.

In clinical medicine we are moving away from classing hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and hyperglycemia as individual risk factors and are instead recognizing them as continuous disease processes that interact with each other and if present in combination can multiply the risk of vascular disease. Fixed combination drug therapy is playing a very important role in addressing not only these individual continuous processes but vascular disease as a whole.

As more and more fixed drug combinations are reaching the market and proving their effectiveness in randomized controlled trials and in large multicenter studies many patients already benefit from fixed drug combinations in the fields of hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes. These include use of fewer pills with low individual drug doses that lead to better tolerability, convenience, and thus ensure better compliance.

The benefit to us as health care providers is the ease of administration, increased compliance and often lower cost to our goverments.

Leading clinicians and scientists from around the world will contribute to a cutting edge program that aims to capture the scope and depth of the exciting field of fixed combination Drug therapy.

This meeting will bring together experts in the fields of internal medicine, cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology as well as  primary care physicians and general practicioners and allow them to discuss the role of fixed combination in the treatment of hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes mellitus as well as learn  about new combinations and future research directions in this field.
